Milwaukee Personal Injury Lawyers
Rapoport Law Offices, P.C.
Trial lawyers at Rapoport Law Offices have won substantial verdicts at trial -- and settled with insurance companies for significant amounts of money -- in cases where someone has been seriously injured or died.
How do they achieve this success?
Simple. They limit the number of cases they accept so they can put all their time, energy and resources into representing a select handful of clients. And when the Rapoport Trial Team goes to work for you, these skilled negotiators and tough-as-nails trial lawyers will deliver. You can depend on it! Best of all, they provide you with the highest level of personal care and attention -- and never lose sight of your welfare.
We don't need to tell you how hard it is for you -- or any injured person -- to deal with an insurance adjuster. Getting an insurance company to pay you anywhere near the amount of money you deserve can be horribly frustrating. Insurance companies know that sooner or later most injured victims give up and accept their low-ball offer.
But... when the insurance company’s legal department sees a demand letter from Rapoport Law Offices, they take notice.
In fact, few insurance companies will risk handing over the final outcome of a trial to a jury. As long as the insurance company is still negotiating with Rapoport lawyers, the insurance company, to some degree, controls the final dollar figure. But since the insurance company knows Rapoport's track record, the last thing they want to do is turn the case’s outcome over to the jury, which could come back with a huge award.
What's more, the insurance company knows it won’t be able to "pull a fast one" on us, so they start offering more realistic amounts of money in hopes of settling your case before the date set for trial.
In his 28 years practicing law, founder David Rapoport has won multi-million dollar verdicts or settlements for victims suffering catastrophic injuries and death and due to someone else's negligence. In addition, David is nationally respected for his work on behalf of victims of aviation disasters. In the 1989 United Airlines DC-10 crash in Sioux City, Iowa, he represented nine members of the crew in product liability cases. (United Airlines insisted that the case results be sealed as "Confidential," so we can’t share them with you.)

Practice Areas and Legal Definitions
Rapoport Law Offices represents people who have been injured and families whose loved ones have died as the result of…
Automobile Accidents:
A car accident is a collision involving an automobile and anything that causes damage to the automobile, including other automobiles, telephone poles, buildings and trees. Sometimes a car accident can also refer to an automobile striking a person or animal. Worldwide, an estimated 1,200,000 people are killed each year in car accidents, which are also called traffic collisions, auto accidents, road accidents, personal injury collisions, motor vehicle accidents and crashes. What’s more, car accidents injure nearly 50,000,000 people each year.
Other Vehicle Accidents:
Legal claims that arise from vehicle accidents are typically governed by the law of negligence. Any individual who negligently operates a motor vehicle may be required to pay damages to an injured victim. “Negligence” usually means doing something that should not be done or failing to something that should be done. In most cases, what “should” be done is left for a jury to decide when cases are not settled before trial. A personal injury case may be resolved in an informal settlement before trial, or it may go to civil court and a formal trial before a jury.
Vehicle accidents can include:
- Car accidents
- Truck accidents
- Semi-tractor trailer accidents
- Bus accidents
- Motorcycle accidents
If a person dies in an automobile accident, the surviving family members may be able to file a lawsuit for wrongful death.
Aviation Accidents:
Aviation accidents occur in a variety of situations. While the most well-known aviation accidents involve commercial airlines, many accidents occur with private airplanes, as well as private and commercial helicopters. Causes of air disasters include pilot error, air traffic control error, defective airplanes, defective airplane component parts and poor maintenance. Complex laws and regulations govern aircraft operations and maintenance.
Truck Accidents:
In most cases, truck accident cases are far more complex than car accidents claims. And as roadways become more and more crowded, truck accidents occur more frequently and can involve a multitude of drivers.
Truck accidents can occur due to reckless driving, mechanical failures, oversized trucks, overloaded trucks, driving in bad weather, truck driver inexperience, and truck driver fatigue. They can result in truck and vehicle rollovers, jack-knifing, as well as head-on and rear-end collisions.
Governments have passed laws and regulations specifically designed to protect motorists from the negligence of truck companies and truck drivers. A person who is injured in a truck accident -- or who has lost a loved one due to a truck accident -- can sue the persons and companies at fault.
Construction Accidents and On-the-job Accidents
Construction work is one of the three most dangerous occupations in the United States, each year resulting in thousands of disabling injuries and deaths. Many factors contribute to construction accidents including workers lifting loads with worn and weathered cables, working on elevated platforms without fall protection, wearing defective safety harnesses and lanyards, working in trenches with improper benching, and using outdated tools and equipment. Farming and manufacturing accidents, as well as accidents in the oil and gas industry also cause serious injuries and toxic exposure.
Medical Malpractice:
Medical malpractice is defined as the failure of a health care provider to follow the accepted standards of practice of his or her profession in the community where the service is rendered. If a physician was careless, lacked proper skills or disregarded standardized rules that result in a patient’s injury, a jury could find the health care provider liable for negligence. Hospitals can also be held legally liable for the negligence of their employees, including staff nurses and technicians.
Examples of Medical Malpractice include:
- Failing to timely diagnose and treat a condition
- Incorrect diagnosis that results in a failure to treat a medical condition
- Failing to order necessary and appropriate medical tests
- Failing to refer a case to a proper medical specialist
- Prescribing incorrect medication
- Dental mistakes
- Cosmetic surgery mistakes
Birth Injuries:
Birth injury malpractice includes the failure of obstetricians and others to properly perform their duties, which can result in depriving the baby of oxygen and cause severe permanent brain damage. If your child has been injured because of improper medical care, you and your child may have a claim against the medical professionals who treated you.
Anesthesia Negligence:
Anesthesia malpractice injuries can occur when anesthesia is improperly given or not given in a timely manner to a patient during a surgical procedure. If the failure of the anesthesiologist is the cause of the patient’s injury or death, the patient and family members may have a legal claim under the laws of medical malpractice.
Spinal Cord Injuries:
Spinal cord injury (SCI) occurs when the nerves within the spinal canal are damaged. Most SCI’s are caused by trauma to the vertebral column, affecting the spinal cord’s ability to send and receive messages between the brain and the body’s systems that control sensory, motor and autonomic function. Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of SCI, followed by acts of violence, falls, sports injuries and diseases such as polio, spina bifida and Friedreich’s Ataxia. The spinal cord does not have to be severed for a loss of function to occur. In fact, in most people with SCI, the spinal cord is intact, but the damage to the spinal cord results in loss of function.
Traumatic Brain Injuries:
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a term used to describe the damage to the brain suffered by sudden impact or physical force to the head. The brain floats in a substance called cerebrospinal fluid. TBI can result when an external force causes the brain to strike the inside of the skull. This type of injury, often the result of hitting your head on the windshield or pavement, is often referred to as a “closed head injury.” Whiplash can also cause TBI. These closed head injuries can result in lasting physical and mental problems.
Defective or Dangerous Products:
Products liability refers to a manufacturer or seller being held legally liable for placing a defective or dangerous product into the hands of a consumer. Products liability cases may include defective or poorly designed machinery, tools, motor vehicles, recreational products, and pharmaceuticals. A person injured by a defective or dangerous product may be able to file a lawsuit for product liability. Damages can be recovered under strict product liability, negligence, or breach of warranty.
Wrongful Death:
Wrongful death occurs when a person is killed due to the negligence or misconduct of another person, company or organization. Wrongful death lawsuits can be filed for the benefit of the deceased person’s immediate family members, including a surviving spouse and children, and sometimes parents and other family members. Under certain circumstances, unrelated minor children living with and supported by the deceased person may also recover damages for wrongful death.
Damages available in wrongful death cases vary under state law. Many states award both economic and non-economic damages to the next of kin. Economic damages include an award for the financial contributions that the deceased person would have made to his or her spouse and children had he or she survived, as well as the costs for the funeral and burial. Some states allow even more, such as recovering for the deceased’s lifetime capacity to earn money. Non-economic damages include loss of love, society, companionship, comfort, affection, solace or moral support, and the deceased person’s conscious pain and suffering before death.
