Impairments can happen in an instant; resulting in musculoskeletal, cardiac, respiratory, psychological or mental impairment that can have a devastating financial and emotional impact.

As experienced and accomplished Michigan Social Security Disability Attorneys, we are a seven-attorney firm dedicated to helping disabled workers throughout Michigan receive the disability benefits they deserve.

We possess the understanding and resources necessary to fight for our disabled clients, and stand up to the Social Security Administration to recover the compensation our clients are entitled to.

We are the only Social Security disability firm in Michigan with seven attorneys and four locations available for the convenience of our clients. Our success has been driven by word-of-mouth referrals from fellow attorneys, doctors and clients. Let our experience work for you.

Contact our firm today if you or a loved one needs legal assistance with any of the following:

  • Social Security Disability (SSD)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Disabled Widows or Widowers
  • Children's SSI Claims

We limit our area of practice to Social Security disability. This allows us to personally handle each case with much more attention to detail, and increases our effectiveness.

Choosing the right attorney to handle your Social Security disability appeal is important, but the success of your appeal also requires skilled and knowledgeable behind-the-scenes support. The organization of our firm is designed for accuracy, with teams focused on specific stages of the appeal and preparation process.

We also refine our practice to provide the best representation possible by continually educating our members at every level with both on-site training and off-site seminars. Attorneys and paralegals regularly attend seminars around the country hosted by the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), as well as the Social Security Section for the State Bar of Michigan. Our staff attends off-site seminars hosted by local Social Security offices and hearing offices as well as weekly on-site training covering everything from legal and procedural issues to client fulfillment.

We will provide effective, trusted service that addresses our clients needs, and facilitates a successful outcome to your case.

Practice Areas and Legal Definitions

Most attorneys do not handle Social Security disability and/or SSI cases. The attorney fees are set and limited by law and the field is highly technical. The outcome of your Social Security disability claim will affect the rest of your life. Before you hire a Social Security lawyer, take the time to make sure he or she is an expert. Do not hesitate to ask straightforward and probing questions about the nature and extent of your Social Security claim representation.

Social Security Disability (SSD):
Social Security provides Disability Insurance Benefits to those who have worked and paid Social Security taxes and have become disabled. In order to receive benefits, the claimant must establish 1) that the disabling condition makes it impossible to perform any substantial work, and 2) that the disability is expected to last at least a year or until death.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI):

Social Security provides SSI benefits for those who are severely disabled but not eligible to receive disability insurance benefits. This is usually because the claimant did not work long enough in Social Security covered employment to establish eligibility. SSI differs substantially from Social Security disability. The benefits are lower, there is no provision for dependent or survivors benefits, and the disabled person cannot own substantial assets or have substantial income from any source.
