Lawrence A. Fox, a partner in the firm, has over 25 years of experience representing people in financial and family crises. After working for the federal government for several years, he established a law practice in Fullerton, California, just outside of Anaheim. It was there that colleagues of his introduced him to bankruptcy and family law.

When Mr. Fox relocated to New Jersey in 1982, he was hired by a general practice law firm of long standing in the Trenton area and began handling most of the firm's bankruptcy and family law matters. He also became involved in toxic tort litigation, legal malpractice litigation, medical malpractice litigation, the drafting of Wills and municipal court work. When the firm dissolved in 1993 he again opened up a solo practice, this time in Lawrenceville and again, he focused on handling bankruptcy and family law cases. In 2001 he purchased 600 Lawrence Road with his colleagues, John V. Dember and Kevin P. Nerwinski and in 2007 joined with them to form the general practice law firm of Nerwinski Dember & Fox, LLC.

Mr. Fox is an advocate of Mahatma Ghandi's legal philosophy of negotiated settlements - as opposed to divisive litigation - and has applied that philosophy to his family law practice. It is his strong belief that the time of separation and divorce should be a time of healing and while he is committed to achieving for his clients an equitable financial result, he tries not to take any action that would upset family relationships that need to continue beyond the date of the divorce. Each of Mr. Fox's clients is kept informed of the progress of their case through telephone calls, correspondence and e-mail; clients are always sent copies of papers that are received and papers that are sent from his office. Telephone messages and e-mails are, with rare exceptions, returned within a few hours. A good client is a well informed client and he will always make himself available to discuss a case.

Mr. Fox is a frequent speaker on the bankruptcy laws and regularly volunteers his time to counsel members of the Eastern Service Workers Association. He also participates in the Volunteer Lawyers Project, a joint volunteer effort of the Mercer County Bar Association and the Legal Aid Society of Mercer County.

Although he has always had a hectic work schedule, Mr. Fox knows the value of a well rounded life. Despite his crowded business schedule, he made time to actively participate with his wife, in the raising of their two children. In addition, he exercises regularly at a local gym, runs a weekly badminton program at Timberlane Middle School in Pennington, and has volunteered as a Boy Scout Leader, holding the position of Committee Chairman for Boy Scout Troop 28 in Lawrenceville since 1998.

Being a solo practitioner had many benefits and Mr. Fox's clients benefited greatly from his personal attention to his cases. In forming a small law firm with his two colleagues, he has not only been able to continue to provide the hands-on attention that his clients have come to expect, but he also has direct access to the assets of the new firm, not the least of which is the combined legal expertise of his two partners.
