I settled this matter for $493,000 ($7,000 short of the insurance policy limits, as this amount went to a second passenger).  I successfully worked a reduced repayment with Medicaid, which enabled the remainder of the money to be used in an annuity, allowing the client to receive monthly payments for life.
• Prevailed on a limited issue appeal, with the Utah Court of Appeals, resulting from a personal injury trial.
• Smaller personal injuries cases often are resolved in arbitration. I have completed several arbitrations in the past two years, all of which resulted in a higher award than what was originally offered in settlement. Many more of my clients’ cases are currently slated for arbitration.
• Prevailed in bench trials against clients’ own insurance carriers for unpaid Personal Injury Protection benefits, including being awarded attorney’s fees.
