Technology Lawyer

A technology lawyer is a lawyer engaged in counseling businesses on the law and regulation of computers, technology systems and the Internet. Technology is a major aspect of nearly all businesses these days. A lawyer who is not skilled in understanding technology may well lose business clients that increasingly encounter technology law issues. A technology lawyer needs to also be well-versed in business and contract law, since so many business transactions now involve technology systems or technology-based transactions. In the past, a technology lawyer might have been hard to find except in the largest cities. Today, however, a lawyer skilled in technology law can be found most anywhere.
