Attorney Marcus G. Keegan

Marcus G. Keegan is licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia. Mr. Keegan obtained a Criminology degree, cum laude, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1995. After graduating from college, Mr. Keegan worked in the criminal justice system in Phoenix, Arizona, including working several years as an Adult Probation Officer. While living in Arizona, Mr. Keegan became a certified Mediator and conducted countless mediations for the Maricopa County Justice Courts. In his capacity as a Mediator representative for the Justice Courts, Mr. Keegan served on an Arizona Supreme court subcommittee to determine Mediator certification standards for the State of Arizona. In 1999, Mr. Keegan returned to his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia to attend the Emory University School of Law.

After graduating from Emory’s Law School in 2002, Mr. Keegan began his legal career as a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s ("EEOC") Atlanta District Office. While employed with the EEOC, Mr. Keegan litigated employment discrimination lawsuits throughout Georgia’s federal courts. Following his employment with the EEOC, Mr. Keegan entered private practice and expanded his practice to include general employment law, civil litigation, and consumer finance litigation throughout Georgia’s state and federal courts. In 2012, Mr. Keegan obtained his second mediation certification, and is now certified to mediate throughout the state of Georgia.

Mr. Keegan has been recognized for his legal skills by his peers and his clients. Mr. Keegan has been recognized as an AV Preeminent Attorney by Martindale-Hubble since 2014. Mr. Keegan was also recognized as a Rising Star in Employment Litigation by Super Lawyers in 2011 and 2012, as well as being recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Mr. Keegan was also named a “Legal Elite” by Georgia Trend Magazine in 2016. Additionally, Mr. Keegan has twice received the AVVO Client’s Choice Award based on the number of positive reviews he has received from his clients. Mr. Keegan is a frequent speaker and moderator on employment law and practice management issues at the State Bar of Georgia, Lorman Education Services, and the National Employment Lawyers Association.

Attorney Jerilyn E. Gardner

Jerilyn E. Gardner is licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia. Ms. Gardner graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Education in 2001. After graduating from college, Ms. Gardner worked in broadcast journalism at CNN/Sports Illustrated and CNN International for nearly five years before attending law school. Ms. Gardner obtained her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009.   Prior to joining the Keegan Law Firm, Ms. Gardner clerked on both the Georgia Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following her clerkship with the Sixth Circuit, Ms. Gardner returned to her hometown of Atlanta. Since returning to Atlanta in 2013, Ms. Gardner has focused her practice on representing clients in employment discrimination and wage and hour matters. Ms. Gardner has represented numerous clients in large FLSA and FCRA collective actions, as well as single-plaintiff FLSA claims.
