Attorney Lisa K. Lawrence
Lisa K. Lawrence is a seasoned and passionate attorney who applies her substantial experience to the field of employment law. In this arena, Ms. Lawrence has met with considerable success in representing workers and employers in complex issues related to wage and hour claims, medical leave, discrimination, employment contracts, sexual harassment, and more. Her goal in every case is to seek the best outcome possible while offering the support and guidance that her client needs and deserves.
Ms. Lawrence has practiced employment law exclusively throughout her career and is well-known for her work in this field. She graduated with a B.A. from the University of Virginia with honors and earned her law degree from the Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary.
Admitted to practice in 1992, Ms. Lawrence founded this firm in 1994 and has represented employees and employers in the public and private sectors. She has litigated cases at all levels in the Virginia Courts, including the Virginia Supreme Court, United States District Court, 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, and is admitted to the United States Supreme Court.

Attorney Barbara Queen
A compassionate yet aggressive attorney, Barbara Queen devotes her practice to employment law. She has worked in this field for 16 years and through this time has gained invaluable experience that she brings to every new case the firm takes on. Ms. Queen recognizes the value of detailed preparation and personalized attention to help every client through difficult employment law matters.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Ms. Queen earned her law degree from Syracuse University College of Law, graduating with cum laude honors.
She began her career with the New York Attorney General’s Office, winning a competitive position as a legal intern. She then interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of New York. Joining Lisa Lawrence in 2002, she has since represented clients before the Department of Health Professionals, Merit Systems Protection Board, U.S. District Court, Commonwealth of Virginia Court, EEOC Administrative Hearings, and Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Queen was recently recognized by Virginia Lawyers Weekly for winning a $3.7 million verdict, the 4th largest verdict in Virginia in 2016.

Attorney Dominique L. Young
An associate attorney at LawrenceQueen, Dominique L. Young centers her practice as a Richmond employment lawyer on the complete understanding and representation of her clients’ needs and best interests. She represents employers and employees in the various disputes or other matters that may arise in the employment law sector. Ms. Young’s clients can count on her commitment, drive, and intelligence as she pursues a swift and favorable case result.
Ms. Young is an alumna of Virginia Commonwealth University, where she studied business marketing with a pre-law concentration. After her time at VCU, Ms. Young attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law, where she participated in various legal clinics serving indigent persons. While in law school, Ms. Young spent her extracurricular time serving as the chair of the Student Bar Association tutoring committee, Black Law Students Association, and Women’s Law Caucus.
Since returning to Virginia, Ms. Young has continued her passion for helping others by volunteering pro-bono hours of service to the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society and is extremely active in increasing diversity in the practice of law. Ms. Young is also is the business law instructor in the VCU Paralegal certification program.

Attorney Hope R. Amezquita
As an associate attorney at LawrenceQueen, Hope R. Amezquita focuses her practice as an employment lawyer representing the best interests of her clients. As a committed attorney, she offers guidance and works tirelessly to navigate difficult employment matters. Ms. Amezquita’s clients can count on supportive representation and a strong work ethic to obtain the best possible outcome in their case.
Ms. Amezquita is an alumna of The Ohio State University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts concentrating on political science and Latino/a studies. Afterward, she studied law at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she graduated with the Public Service Fellow with Dean’s Special Recognition Award.
Prior joining the LawrenceQueen team, she spent several years working at the ACLU of Virginia, a non-profit law firm protecting and defending civil rights and liberties.

Attorney Ashley R. Passero
Ashley R. Passero, an associate attorney at LawrenceQueen, appreciates what is at stake when employees and employers face challenges in the workplace. Clients can rely on Ms. Passero to provide an honest, straightforward assessment of their case, and to partner with them to negotiate, or litigate, a successful resolution. Ms. Passero has practiced exclusively in employment law for the past six years. She has substantial experience in a variety of employment matters, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour, and family and medical leave.
Before joining LawrenceQueen, Ms. Passero was an employment attorney at a management-side employment law firm in Richmond, Virginia, where she focused on counseling employers and litigation. Previously, Ms. Passero was an employment attorney at a law firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ms. Passero received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, graduating both with magna cum laude honors.
