What are the rules on final paychecks in Maine?

Generally, under Me. Rev. Stat. Ann. tit. 26 § 626, an employer must issue a final paycheck to a terminated employee on the next regularly scheduled pay date, or within two weeks of demand for payment, whichever is earlier. Likewise, under Me. Rev. Stat. Ann. tit. 26 § 626, an employee who quits his or her job is entitled to a final paycheck no later than the next regularly scheduled pay date or within two weeks of demand for payment, whichever is earlier.
