What Happens If My Farm Animals Escape From Their Fences?
The owner of any farm animal is required to restrain the animal in a proper enclosure at all times. If the stray animal causes any damage to another landowner’s property, then the animal owner is liable for the damages. If the landowner willingly omits to keep the animal in a proper enclosure, or actively allows the animal to roam freely, the landowner will be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment in the county jail for a maximum period of thirty (30) days and a fine of not more than fifty ($50) dollars per offense.
