What happens if a complaint is filed against me with the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners?

Typically, once the Board establishes that it has jurisdiction, the Board will notify the physician that a complaint has been filed and request the physician’s response to the complainant’s allegations. Then, an investigation will take place and the Board will issue a decision either dismissing the case or finding against the doctor and issuing a reprimand or substantive sanctions.
