What happens if a complaint is filed against me with the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners?

The Board is required to consider all complaints that have been filed against Louisiana doctor or other medical professional under its jurisdiction. An investigating officer is assigned to each case and is responsible for obtaining all relevant evidence and preparing an investigation report. The Board then decides whether a doctor should be sanctioned or the case should be dismissed.
