What are the requirements to be eligible to vote in Louisiana state and local elections?

In order to vote under Louisiana law, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least eighteen (18) years of age on Election Day, a resident of Louisiana, and a resident of the parish in which you want to vote. You also cannot register to vote if you are serving a sentence of imprisonment due to a felony conviction, or if you are subject to a judgment of full interdiction for mental incompetence or partial interdiction with suspension of your voting rights.
