When do I need to update my voter registration in the state of Kentucky?

In the state of Kentucky, you must update your voter registration if you move. If you move within the same county, you can update your voter registration by notifying the county clerk in writing or by completing a new voter registration card, changing the address on your driver’s license, or by changing your address at your new voting precinct on Election Day. If you move outside the county prior to the voter registration deadline, or twenty-eight (28) days prior to the election, you must notify your new county clerk or update your driver’s license, or you will not be eligible to vote. However, if you move outside the county after the registration deadline, or less than twenty-eight (28) days prior to the election, you can vote in your previous county of residence for that election only; in order to vote in future elections, you must register to vote in your new county of residence.
