In 1953, David C. Dickson, Jr., began his legal career with his uncle, C.W. Dickson. In 1977, he opened his Berwick office as a sole practitioner. Mr. Dickson served the Berwick area as a general practice attorney until 1992, when he partnered with John R. Gordner, and the firm of Dickson & Gordner was created. From that time on the firm’s clientele and good reputation grew and Brenda R. Hess joined the firm as an associate attorney in 1997 and became a partner in 2003. Mr. Dickson retired from the practice of law in 2012. Rebecca S. Reimiller joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2014. Attorneys Gordner, Hess and Reimiller continue to serve Berwick and the surrounding communities with reliable and efficient legal representation.

Attorney John R. Gordner
Attorney Gordner is a native of Berwick and was an original partner when the firm was started in 1992. He is a graduate of Dickinson College and Dickinson School of Law. He currently serves as the State Senator from the 27th senatorial district in the Pennsylvania General Assembly. He is a member of the Columbia/Montour Bar Association. He is a past board member of the Berwick Health and Wellness Foundation. He was a past President of the Berwick Jaycees and a past Vice-President of the Greater Berwick Chapter of the American Red Cross. He was a past Fund Drive Chairperson for the Berwick Area United Way. He is a current member of the Berwick Rotary Club and is on the Board of Directors of the Columbia/Montour Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America. His practice is limited to Estate Planning and Administration, Real Estate and Business Law
Attorney Brenda R. Hess
Attorney Hess is a lifetime resident of Berwick and has been with the firm since 1997. She is a graduate of Marywood College, Magna Cum Laude, and Dickinson School of Law. She is the First Assistant District Attorney for Columbia County. She is a member of the Columbia/Montour County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Attorney Hess is an active member of the Women’s Civic Club. She is the former Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Berwick YMCA, the former Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Berwick Area Chamber of Commerce, the former President of the Red Cross, Berwick Chapter and the former Vice-President of the McBride Memorial Library. She has been recognized by Beyond Violence for her work as an advocate for victims of domestic violence. Her practice emphasis is on Estate Administration and Planning, Real Estate, Corporate, Adoption, Divorce, Child Custody and Support.
Attorney Rebecca S. Reimiller
Attorney Reimiller previously served as a full-time Assistant District Attorney in Luzerne County from 2008 until joining the firm in February of 2014. She is a graduate of the Berwick Area High School in 2000, University of Pittsburgh, Magna Cum Laude, in 2004 and the Duquesne University School of Law in 2007. She is currently serving the community as an Assistant District Attorney in Columbia County. She is a member of the Columbia/Montour County Bar Association, the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association and the Duquesne University Alumni Association. She is a current member of the Board of Directors for the For the Cause, Inc. and the Comet Foundation. She previously served on the Board of Trustees for the McBride Memorial Library. Her practice emphasis is in the areas of Estate Planning and Administration, Family Law, Real Estate, and Business Law.
