Attorney Dean M. Barkley
Dean Barkley graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in June of 1976. He was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in September of 1976 and was certified to practice before the Federal Bench in October of 1976.
Mr. Barkley has practiced law in Wright County and Hennepin County for over 30 years. 16 years ago he became involved in politics and co-founded the Independence Party of Minnesota. In 1998 he recruited Jesse Ventura to run for Governor for the State of Minnesota and served as the Chairman of his campaign. He served as the Director of Strategic and Long Range Planning for four years under the Ventura Administration. In November of 2001, Governor Ventura appointed Dean Barkley to the United States Senate to serve the remaining term of the late Senator Wellstone.

Attorney Ben Gisselman
Ben has been practicing law since 2004. After graduating from Hamline University School of law, Ben worked as a law clerk in Minnesota’s 10th judicial district to the Honorable Michael J. Roith. Since then, Ben has handled hundreds of cases for a variety of clients while working for several small law firms and now in his own practice, and also as counsel for Villaume & Schiek. Ben also runs a hospitality industry liability training business which involves the training of hundreds of Minnesota bars and restaurants each year.

Attorney Jeffrey D. Schiek
Jeffrey Schiek, concentrates his practice in criminal defense law and employment law, representing professionals facing employment-related misconduct allegations. Mr. Schiek represents victims of workplace abuse and harassment. Mr. Schiek has helped develop brochures and articles for workshops nationwide on the topics of criminal law and procedure diversity in education, the community and the workplace, and on the topics of the prevention of workplace violence and harassment.
Mr. Schiek has lectured and written on topics for CLE’s (Continuing Legal Education).Mr. Schiek was hired by Philip G. Villaume and Associates in 1999 as a law clerk. In 2000, Mr. Schiek was hired as an attorney and is currently a Partner. Since 2000 Mr. Schiek has been providing legal services to professionals and organizations. Mr. Schiek represents professionals accused of employment-related misconduct. Mr. Schiek also provides pro bono legal advice to the Amish community in Minnesota. Mr. Schiek has written and argued numerous cases to the Court of Appeals and to the Supreme Court of Minnesota. Jeff was voted Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers in Minnesota.
