If you Need a Litigator, Something has Gone Wrong.
Matthew Gunn is a proud, lifelong Idaho native. Growing up in Idaho Falls, Mr. Gunn skied Targhee, Jackson, and Kelly Canyon, fly-fished the South Fork and the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River, and hiked and camped the mountains of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
Attending the University of Arkansas for his undergraduate studies, Mr. Gunn was a member of the Razorbacks’ elite track and field and cross-country program while graduating with honors. Mr. Gunn was a five-time All-Southeastern Conference performer in the 5,000 meters and cross-country and was a member of five NCAA Division I National Championship teams. His senior year, Mr. Gunn was awarded the Walter Byers Scholarship, the NCAA’s highest academic award, as the top male student-athlete in the NCAA across all divisions.
New York City and the Ivy League beckoned. Mr. Gunn completed his law degree at prestigious Columbia University on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where he also served as an editor of the American Review of International Arbitration, published by Columbia Law School.
Returning west, Mr. Gunn gained invaluable experience as a law clerk for two highly regarded federal judges. First, with United States District Court Judge Justin Quackenbush of the Eastern District of Washington in Spokane, then with Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Stephen Trott in Boise.
