Attorney Robert A. Kashfian

A co-founder of Kashfian & Kashfian, LLP, Robert A. Kashfian started his own law practice to provide individualized client services, along with effective legal representation, to a select clientele. During that time, he worked as a researcher at the USC Brain Project, Information Sciences Institute, and Institute for Creative Technologies, assisting in various projects including: the construction of a protocol that dictated the types of gesturers and politeness strategies that a computer animation should use when teaching a foreign language, as well as developing a computer program that analyzed human speech patterns to uncover the underlying psychological state of the human subject. Mr. Kashfian also conducted research at the X-Ray Crystallography & Computational Biology Lab at the University of Southern California.

Attorney George E. Akwo

Mr. Akwo has been practicing law for over twenty (20) years in Plaintiff as well as Defense work. He has extensive experience practicing in federal and state litigation matters. Mr. Akwo was a Judicial Intern for the Hon. Marilyn Hall Patel (Ret.) in the United States District, Northern District of California. He was also Deputy City Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco for approximately seven (7) years.

Mr. Akwo has completed numerous jury and bench trials at both the state and federal level. He was also an instructor at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (Litigation Training for Lawyers) both in Los Angeles and Louisville. Attorney Gohar O. Fayyaz

Attorney Gohar Fayyaz joined Kashfian & Kashfian, LLP to provide clients of the firm counsel with regard to general complex litigation matters, intellectual property controversies, as well as prosecutions. Mr. Fayyaz's area of expertise is complex discovery disputes in the forum of large scale litigation, including e-discovery. Upon completion of high school, Mr. Fayyaz promptly and proudly joined the Unites States Army. After finishing three years of distinguished service, he returned to academia and received his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science summa cum laude from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Fayyaz has held numerous managerial positions with companies in the field of information technology; including, a broadband service provider and a German-based company specializing in resource-intensive medical imaging technology in the United States.

Mr. Fayyaz then moved to Los Angeles, California where he completed his Juris Doctorate at Southwestern Law School's competitive and prestigious, two-year SCALE Program. While in law school and immediately thereafter, Mr. Fayyaz worked as an extern at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office (civil division) with distinction.

Mr. Fayyaz is admitted to practice before the state courts in California and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Attorney Sheila Esmaili

Ms. Esmaili's practice primarily focuses on bankruptcy and litigation. She is skilled in restructuring and reorganizing the finances of businesses and individuals. As a highly sought after attorney, she has acquired extensive experience in representing both creditors and debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 Bankruptcy and related proceedings and litigation, including Adversary Proceedings. She has represented numerous plaintiffs and defendants through to trial, as well as handle several pre-bankruptcy planning and strategy, debt settlements and debt negotiations.

While in law school, Sheila focused her studies on bankruptcy law and secured transactions. She also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Samuel L. Bufford, United States Bankruptcy Judge, Central District of California, hosted Serbian delegates researching U.S. Bankruptcy laws in an effort to revise Serbia's Bankruptcy legislation, and studied international bankruptcy at the University of International Business & Economics in China.

Attorney Matthew W. Krupke

Attorney Matthew W. Krupke joined Kashfian & Kashfian, LLP in order to provide the firms clients expert counsel with regard to general litigation, administrative and regulatory matters. Mr. Krupke’s area of expertise is primarily in the area of administrative law and proceedings. Mr. Krupke received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and later, a second Bachelor’s degree in Moving Image Arts from the College of Santa Fe. After completing his undergraduate studies, Mr. Krupke began work as a medical technician. Following several years of working in the medical field, Mr. Krupke decided to depart from the medical profession, to enter in the film industry. Thereafter, he began his work as an armorer and firearms safety advisor.

While working as an experienced and seasoned armorer and weapons specialist, Mr. Krupke constantly dealt with complex regulatory compliance issues with regards to firearms and appropriate safety standards. Impassioned about the intricacies and particulars associated with regulatory and administrative law, Mr. Krupke decided to enter law school, so that he could better advise his clients and broaden his understanding when approaching various issues. Mr. Krupke completed his Juris Doctorate in two years at Southwestern Law School’s competitive SCALE program. While in law school, Mr. Krupke maintained his work connections in the firearms industry. He was also a clerk for the in-house counsel of an international sporting goods corporation. During his clerkship, Mr. Krupke dealt primarily with trademark issues as well as product safety compliance in foreign markets.
