Wrongful Termination Lawsuit Damages

Full Video Transcript

If you’ve been wrongfully terminated, then you may be entitled to a variety of damages, based on your situation and your state laws, such as: backpay for the time that you were not working after your wrongful termination; reinstatement to your job, with reasonable accommodations if necessary; promotion, if a promotion was wrongfully denied; monetary compensation, including compensation for benefits such as medical insurance that were lost due to wrongful termination; punitive damages; and attorney’s fees. In many cases, those who have been wrongfully terminated may also be able to obtain compensation for emotional distress. Now, not all termination of employment is unlawful, of course, but if you think your rights have been violated, it makes sense to discuss the facts of your situation with an attorney to determine your legal options.
