Do I Need a Passport To Enter Canada?
Full Video Transcript
If you are planning on going to Canada, it is important to remember that since June 2009, everyone from every country in the world, including the United States, needs a passport or an equivalent travel document to enter Canada. In the past, U.S. citizens did not need a passport to enter Canada. Visitors from any other country have always been required to show a passport in order to enter Canada. Due to heightened security measures to strengthen border security under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, standardized travel documentation has been a top priority. As a result, the use of a passport or equivalent travel document is mandatory.
