What is A Health Care Directive

A health-care directive, often referred to as an advance health-care directive, informs your doctor, family and friends of your wishes when it comes to decisions regarding your health care and medical treatment. At the end of your life you may not be able to express your wishes due to health reasons or otherwise. A directive will guide your loved ones and doctors to know what type of special treatment you want or don’t want, as well as if you want any life saving surgeries or resuscitation and whether you wish to be an organ donor.
