Implied Consent Laws

Full Video Transcript

While the particular law varies by state, implied consent laws generally mean that when you get the privilege of a driver’s license, you automatically consent to blood alcohol or other testing if suspected of driving under the influence. Accordingly, police can ask you to submit to a blood, breath, or urine test if pulled over for a DUI. Under the implied consent laws, every driver is deemed to have already consented to such tests. Refusal to take the test may result in criminal penalties. For more information about implied consent laws or other matters related to driving under the influence, contact an attorney in your area today.
