DePuy Hip Replacement

Full Video Transcript

If you’ve had a hip replacement, it’s important you know both the manufacturer and model of the system that was installed. If you received a hip replacement manufactured by DePuy, you may be at risk. In August 2010, DePuy announced a voluntary recall of the ASR XL Acetabular system and the DePuy ASR Hip Resurfacing System. These systems suffered a design flaw that lead to high failure rates. If you believe you may be at risk, first consult your surgeon to determine whether you were fitted with the recalled components. If so, a blood test can be administered to determine whether your implant is failing. If you have the recalled components installed but aren’t experiencing any complications, it’s still important to meet with your surgeon to discuss your options. A recall is very serious, especially when dealing with your health. If you have suffered injuries as the result of your DePuy hip replacement, contact an experienced attorney to discuss your legal options.
