Zithromax commonly known as Zmax and Z-Pac might cause fatal heart-related side effects. It’s used to treat bacterial infections, including sinusitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis and tonsillitis. The New England Journal of Medicine found that during five days of therapy, Zithromax users were almost three times more likely than nonantibiotic patients to die from heart-related side effects.
