Onfi, or clobazam, was approved by the FDA in 2011 to help those suffering from severe epilepsy, specifically Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. In December of 2013, the FDA released a safety announcement warning the public that Onfi can lead to both Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. In minor cases, these two skin reactions can cause burns and blisters, which may require hospitalization. In extreme and unfortunate cases, the reactions may lead to blindness, and may even lead to death. If you are taking the drug, be sure you understand the risks and consult fully with your doctor.
