Meridia

Full Video Transcript

Meridia was a drug developed by Abbott Laboratories and FDA-approved in 1997 for weight loss and weight maintenance. In 2010, the FDA released a safety announcement recommending against the continued use of Meridia because the drug posed an unnecessary cardiovascular risk. One study conducted showed a link between taking Meridia and suffering nonfatal heart attacks, nonfatal strokes, cardiac arrest, and even death. If you’re taking Meridia, stop immediately and talk to your doctor about your health options. If you took Meridia and suffered a heart-related health problem such as a heart attack, you may be entitled to compensation. Consult with an experienced attorney to discuss your legal options.
