Can I vote in New York if I have a felony conviction?

You cannot vote in New York if you are in prison due to a felony conviction, or if you are on parole for a felony conviction. However, if you have been convicted of a felony in the past, you can still vote, as long as you have already served your maximum prison sentence, you have been discharged from parole for that conviction, or you have been pardoned. Additionally, you can vote if you have been convicted of a misdemeanor under New York law, or if you have been charged with a felony, but are still awaiting trial, even if you are in jail.
