Attorney Lara M. Czajkowski Higgins
Lara Czajkowski Higgins practices in the areas of civil litigation, business law, personal injury litigation, insurance defense, municipal law and real estate law. She has successfully represented clients in a broad range of litigation matters. Ms. Czajkowski Higgins also assists municipalities in resolving disputes, assists in business acquisition and formation issues, and has experience in appealing matters before the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Ms. Czajkowski Higgins received her B.A. in political science from Grinnell College, with honors, in 1997, where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. She received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law in 2001, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Ms. Czajkowski Higgins served as an Articles Editor on the Law Review, the Articles Editor for the Women's Law Forum, and co-president of the Environmental Law Society. From 2001 through 2003, Ms. Czajkowski Higgins practiced in private practice in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Czajkowski Higgins has served on the Prairie du Chien Police and Fire Commission and co-chaired the Crawford County Joint Dispatch Implementation Committee. Ms. Czajkowski Higgins is past-president and a current member of the Rotary Club of Prairie du Chien. Ms. Czajkowski Higgins currently serves on the Prairie du Chien Catholic School Education Commission and also on the school's Wellness Committee. In her spare time, Ms. Czajkowski Higgins enjoys kayaking, yoga, and gardening.

Attorney Amanda K. Tisdale

Attorney Amanda Tisdale is a native of Southwest Wisconsin, born and raised in rural Avoca. After graduating from Riverdale High School in 1999, Amanda attended UW Platteville earning a double major in Criminal Justice and Political Science. While at UW Platteville, Amanda completed an internship with the State Public Defender's office and was active with the Mock Trial team.
In 2007, Amanda earned her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. While in law school, Amanda volunteered through the Minnesota Justice Foundation at Tubman Family Alliance and obtained certifications in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation. After passing the Wisconsin Bar Exam, Amanda was hired to work in the Lancaster office of the Wisconsin State Public Defender as an Assistant State Public Defender. At the State Public Defender's Office, Amanda gained a tremendous volume of litigation experience defending criminal and OWI cases. In addition to criminal defense, Amanda's time with the State Public Defender exposed her to a wide variety of cases, allowing her to work with juveniles, assist the mentally ill in Chapter 51 proceedings, and represent wards in guardianships.
Amanda currently practices in the areas of criminal defense, OWI defense, family law, probate & estate planning, and real estate.
Amanda and her husband, Brent, live in rural Blue River with their two young daughters. Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, and running. Amanda volunteers with her church and is a member of the Prairie du Chien Rotary Club.

Attorney Amy A. Smith
Attorney Smith joined Czajkowski Higgins & Tisdale, S.C. as Of Counsel where her practice focuses exclusively on family law. In 1992, Ms. Smith received her J.D. from the University of Minnesota and has practiced family law in Western Wisconsin since. Prior to her law career, she worked in finance, banking, and real estate. Ms. Smith has an established career in all aspects of family law including divorce, custody and placement, child support, paternity, and other related areas.
Ms. Smith resides in LaCrosse, Wisconsin where she maintains a home in the Historic District and has other real estate investments. When not practicing law, she enjoys relaxing in Northern Wisconsin, reading, gardening and knitting.
In addition to her Of Counsel position with Czajkowski Higgins & Tisdale, S.C., Ms. Smith also maintains her law practice in Westby, Wisconsin.
