With over 20 years of experience in construction defect law, Chris Casey focuses on representing commercial building and multi-family residential housing owners. What distinguishes Mr. Casey is his prior years of experience as a construction defect defense attorney, his record in the courtroom as a criminal prosecutor and civil trial attorney, as well as his commitment to developing long-term relationships with each client.
Mr. Casey started his career, while still a law student, in Oregon as a trial attorney with the District Attorney’s Office. At the D.A.’s Office, he worked with the Drug Enforcement Trial Unit, and successfully litigated dozens of felony bench and jury trials. Mr. Casey left the D.A. with an undefeated trial record.
In 1997, Mr. Casey brought his courtroom success to Seattle where he began a career as a civil litigator. Mr. Casey has achieved significant results litigating claims in federal and state courts throughout Washington. The cases he litigates involve a variety of condominium and construction issues, including breach of contract and warranty, breach of duty, negligence, construction defects, Consumer Protection Act, fraud, and issues involving insurance coverage.
Mr. Casey has participated in a variety of condominium and construction-related legal matters of varying economic value. Mr. Casey’s cases have involved homeowners, developers, contractors, construction product manufacturers, and construction-related corporations ranging in size from four employees to over four hundred.
Mr. Casey appreciates that most of our clients look to him to achieve both a fair and a timely resolution of their problems. He recognizes the stress and strain that drawn-out litigation brings to businesses and families. Where it is possible, Mr. Casey settles disputes without resorting to litigation. However, by reputation, the opposing counsel understands he is an experienced and aggressive trial attorney. This reputation, coupled with his relationships with defense attorneys, contributes to Mr. Casey’s success in timely settling disputes and maximizing our clients’ claims.
Chris has also been a keynote speaker on behalf of the Community Association Institute, Institute of Real Estate Management, Rental Housing Association, and the Real Estate Investors Association of Washington.
