Attorney Bruce Mason
Bruce A. Mason grew up in Fairmont, West Virginia. He graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business finance. Bruce attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and graduated in 1989. After working with the firm of Pennington and Wicks, Bruce founded Mason & Mason in 1993 as a general trial practice specializing in criminal defense with a concentration in personal injury representation.
The North Carolina State Bar recognizes him as a board certified specialist in state criminal law. Bruce maintains an “excellent” rating by the national lawyer rating service of Martindale Hubbell. Bruce practices extensively in Federal Court and is a member of the C.J.A. Panel which is comprised of attorneys selected by the Federal Judiciary to represent clients in Federal Court by appointment.
Bruce concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense , driving while impaired defense , traffic law and personal injury . He also provides representation in school suspension hearing, domestic violence protective action and professional employment defense.
Attorney Amanda B. Mason
Amanda Mason provides services in family law, civil law and criminal defense matters for individuals and businesses. Since graduating law school from the University of Arizona in 2003, she has devoted her practice to representation throughout state and federal court, with an emphasis on assisting employers, professionals, banks and individuals with a broad range of litigation needs, both in and out of court.
For domestic and family law matters, Amanda’s extensive courtroom experience allows her to help her clients navigate through the toughest of times. When facing separation, divorce or child custody issues, Ms. Mason aggressively protects and pursues her clients’ rights. Amanda’s criminal service offerings include representation on state and federal matters, including traffic, firearms, domestic violence , DWI , and drug/narcotic offenses .
Amanda’s experience has also enabled her to provide complete service to individuals that face both criminal and immigration issues. She commonly advises other criminal defense attorneys regarding the consequences of convictions for non-citizens, helping them to provide complete client service.
Attorney William Gray Smith
William “Gray” Smith grew up in Robersonville, North Carolina. He attended Randolph-Macon College in Virginia where he majored in Religious Studies and played wide receiver on the football team. Gray was an active member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity while at Randolph-Macon. Gray came home to North Carolina to attend law school at Campbell University in 2014. During law school Gray devoted himself to becoming a trial lawyer. After being selected as a member of Campbell’s nationally recognized trial team, Gray competed across the country and earned Outstanding Advocate honors. Upon graduation from law school in 2017, Gray was admitted to The Order of the Barristers for his excellence in courtroom advocacy.
Gray uses his competitive nature and extensive training in his criminal law practice every day. Since joining Mason, Mason, and Smith, Attorneys at Law in 2017, Gray has zealously advocated for his clients both in and out of the courtroom. In addition to all criminal and civil law matters, Gray provides representation in family law, administrative hearings, school disciplinary hearings, restraining orders, firearm restorations, and expunctions.
Attorney Sarah C. Thomas
Sarah Thomas is an integral attorney with our firm, having graduated from the prestigious University of North Carolina School of Law, and she concentrates her practice in family law, criminal law, and general litigation. Having grown up in Wilson, North Carolina in a family esteemed attorneys, she has the heart of a litigator and is a true competitor in both her professional and personal lives.
In her youth, Sarah played tennis at an astonishingly high level, and traveled across the country for junior USTA tournaments. After moving to Chapel Hill to attend the University of North Carolina, she joined Chi Omega Sorority and was on the club tennis team. An illness late in high school led her to become involved with Teen Cancer America, and she became a Youth Ambassador for TCA her junior year at UNC. During her undergraduate career, she wrote for the Daily Tar Heel and the Lumina News. She graduated cum laude in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, and then attended the University of North Carolina School of Law beginning in the fall of 2016. During her time in law school, she participated in various prestigious academic and social groups and won awards for her hard work.
