Attorney Sylvia L. Breitowich

After gaining years of valuable experience working for  several  large  law  firms  in  New  Jersey,  Sylvia  Breitowich  decided  to  open  her  own  firm  so  she  could  focus  more  closely  on  the  needs  of  her  clients  and  provide  them  with  more  attentive  and  personalized service.A  graduate  of  Rutgers  University,  Sylvia  received  her  bachelor’s  degree  in  psychology  and  criminal  justice,   a   minor   in   sociology   and   received   a   Certificate  of  Criminology.  She  later  went  on  to  receive her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law. Sylvia   originally   planned   to   focus   on   criminal   defense  practice  but  an  internship  with  a  solo  practitioner,  who  handled  both  criminal  defense  and  family  law  matters,  exposed  Sylvia  to  the  complex  world  of  matrimonial  and  family  law  and  as  a  result,  she  changed  her  focus.  She  explains,  “I  loved  interacting  with  people  and  helping  them  get  through  serious  issues  in  their  lives.  Family  law matters are not only legally complex, but very emotional for all parties involved. I feel it is my duty to  take  the  legal  burden  off  of  my  clients  so  that  they can better focus their attention on themselves and their children. My clients are always confident that I have their back and their best interests in mind when  navigating  their  matter.  They  are  comforted  by  my  abilities  and  find  that  they  are  better  able  to  see  the  light  at  the  end  of  the  tunnel  with  me  helping to guide the way.”  Working in matrimonial and   family   law   also   aligned   well   with   Sylvia’s   psychology degree. As   the   founder   and   owner   of   Breitowich   Law   Firm,  LLC,  the  firm  she  founded  in  January  2019,  Sylvia  concentrates  on  various  matrimonial  and  family  law  issues  including  divorce,  custody  and  support  cases,  relocation  cases,  post  judgment  matters,  property  division,  alimony,  adoptions  and  guardianships. She explains that as the owner of the firm, she can offer her clients the hands-on and devoted service and  legal  experience  that  they  deserve  when  dealing  with  difficult  issues  in  their  lives.  She  is  also a qualified mediator and as such, has the skills needed  to  help  bring  parties  together  to  reach amicable resolutions without the need for court intervention. She adds that most of her clients come to her at very tough times in their lives and she is happy to be able to help them through these hardships. As an attorney who is focused on truly understanding the needs of her clients and offering the best possible legal options and services, many clients hire Sylvia because they feel she can relate to them on a personal level, not just a business relationship. Sylvia  has  been  practicing  law  for  over  ten  years  and  in  addition  to  her  professional accomplishments she has received several notable awards and recognitions. She has been named a Rising Star Super Lawyer for the past three consecutive years and was nominated by her clients for New Jersey’s Best Lawyers for Families in 2019.
