Attorney Branden Twibell
Mr. Branden Twibell joined his father, Bert Twibell, in private practice in 2013, after spending over four years as a criminal defense trial attorney, where he achieved an exceptional trial record.
Mr. Twibell’s trial record includes four consecutive jury trial ‘not guilty’ verdicts within a 12-month period, with two of those trials occurring within consecutive weeks. Those ‘wins’ involved charges as diverse as drug possession, kidnapping, and sexual assault.
Mr. Twibell has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America as the ‘Lawyer of the Year’ for 2023- Criminal Defense: White Collar in Springfield, Missouri; as well as being recognized by Best Lawyers in America for Criminal Defense: General Practice in 2023 and Criminal Defense: White Collar in 2022.
Mr. Twibell has been invited to speak about criminal law and criminal defense by such organizations as the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, the Christian County Bar Association, The Springfield and Missouri Bar Association’s Mini Law School for Citizens, and as the keynote speaker for Ozark Technical Community College’s Constitution Day.

He is also a member of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
Mr. Twibell attended undergraduate school at Missouri State University, where he was president of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and law school at Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley School of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude. He also received his MBA from Missouri State University.
Attorney Scott Pierson
Scott Pierson is an accomplished criminal defense attorney with a winning track record in trial experience. Scott has an established history of getting felony charges, such as drunk driving, dismissed and obtaining “Not Guilty” verdicts. He has lectured for the Missouri Bar, the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers on topics ranging from expungements to driving while intoxicated offenses. As a result he has become a “go to” serious criminal defense attorneys.
With multiple acquittals on the most serious of charges, including serious sex crimes, murder charges, Scott offers a level of proven success. At Twibell Johnson Pierson- Criminal Law, Scott focuses on Municipal, State, and Federal charges.
Before becoming a partner at Twibell Johnson Pierson Criminal Law, Scott worked for The Law Offices of Dee Wampler and Joseph Passanise. While at Wampler and Passanise, Scott handled cases ranging from Driving While Intoxicated offenses to serious felonies. Learning from The Law Offices of Dee Wampler and Joseph Passanise, Scott was able to establish a style uniquely his own. Crafting unique criminal defense strategies, which led to numerous acquittals, decreased sentences and dismissal of charges.
Scott came to Springfield, Missouri to attend Missouri State University. While at Missouri State, Scott competed on a national ranked policy debate team. He was also extremely involved with Missouri State University, serving many leadership roles including Student Body Vice-president. He was awarded the prestigious Board of Governors Commendation for Outstanding Service to the University. Further, he was awarded Greek Man of the year, the highest honor given to an individual in the Missouri State Fraternity system.
Scott went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Law. While in law school he was the winner of outstanding oral advocate in the Ellison Moot Court Competition, competed on the national moot court team and also interned at the Kansas City Public Defender Office, which allowed him to work on high profile felony cases. Scott’s high aptitude in trial preparation and argument led to him being selected by faculty to the distinguished Order of the Barristers.
Upon graduation he worked at McGonagle Spencer PC, a small boutique law firm in Kansas City, which specializes in plaintiff’s class action work, personal injury, and criminal law. While at the firm Scott was a zealous advocate for clients who had suffered life altering injuries. Wanting to get back to Springfield, Missouri and back into the court room on a regular basis Scott accepted a job with the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office in Springfield, practicing solely in Criminal Defense. Two years after working for the Missouri State Public Defenders office, Scott was hired as an associate attorney with the Law Offices of Wampler and Passanise.
Attorney Bert Twibell
In 1975, Mr. Bert Twibell left a highly successful career as a trial attorney in the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for private practice, establishing one of the areas’ longest running criminal law firms with what is today known as the Twibell Pierson law firm.
Mr. Twibell’s decades of practice have earned him a reputation as a top trial attorney and such honors and awards as being named a Super Lawyer, The Nations Top One Percent, and AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubble- the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards.
Mr. Twibell’s trial record includes a ‘not guilty’ verdict in a murder in the second degree jury trial, and a directed verdict of ‘not guilty’ in a manslaughter jury trial.
Mr. Twibell attended Missouri State University for undergraduate school, where he was ‘number one’ for the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, and law school at the University of Arkansas.
Attorney Kristie Pierce
Kristie Pierce joins the office with three years of experience practicing exclusively in criminal defense. Kristie considers it a privilege to walk her clients through the process of being charged with a crime and advocating on their behalf.
Kristie has successfully negotiated dismissal on a habitual felony offender driving while intoxicated case. She has also obtained a “not guilty” verdict from a jury on a driving while intoxicated case for a repeat offender. She has also negotiated dismissals on numerous felony charges including stealing, burglary, forgery, assault, and possession of a controlled substance.
Before joining Twibell Pierson Criminal Law, Kristie spent three years at the Greene County Public Defender’s Office. There, she handled a high criminal defense case load ranging from misdemeanor offenses to serious felony charges including first-degree assault, rape, and murder. She represented hundreds of individuals in Greene County and maintained a dismissal rate of over 40%. Kristie works with each of her clients to understand their long-term goals and put them in the best position possible to achieve those goals.
While Kristie now calls Springfield Home, she is originally from Seattle, Washington. Kristie left Seattle to attend school at Liberty University, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Politics and Policy. She was hired as a legal assistant in a small law firm that specialized in the neglect and abuse of elderly and disabled persons. After three years as a legal assistant, she started law school at Liberty University School of Law. Kristie was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and a recipient of the Virginia Law Foundation Grant for work she did with the Virginia Legal Aid Society. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Juris Doctor just a month after she and her husband welcomed their first child.
After law school, Kristie and her family relocated to Springfield where she successfully passed the Missouri bar exam with a newborn in tow. Kristie began her career as an Assistant Attorney General at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. There, she performed civil defense work defending the State of Missouri in Worker’s Compensation cases.
After nearly three years at the Attorney General’s Office, Kristie chose to pursue her passion for criminal defense and joined the Missouri Public Defender’s Office. As a public defender, she represented hundreds of indigent criminal defendants, many of whom were in jail or prison when she received their case. Kristie regularly argued for her client’s release, aggressively argued pre-trial motions, and negotiated for charges to be dismissed or reduced.
Kristie is a member of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association and the Missouri Bar Association. In addition to her legal work, Kristie is also a member of James River Church, in Ozark, Missouri, where she volunteers with the Living Free and pre-school ministries.
Attorney Bryan Delleville
Bryan grew up in St. Louis where he graduated from Chaminade High School. He attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where he received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Bryan returned home to Missouri for law school and got his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri in 2007. While in law school, Bryan interned with the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office. It was during that internship that Bryan developed his passion for criminal defense. Following law school, Bryan went to work for the Public Defender’s Office in Springfield, MO. While at the Public Defender’s Office, Bryan successfully represented his clients in complex felony cases including murder, rape, robbery, and serious assaults.
Bryan utilizes his encyclopedic knowledge of the law in representing his clients through an aggressive motion practice. He has successfully litigated numerous motions to suppress leaving the government with no evidence to present at trial. Bryan is a member of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association and a member of the Missouri Bar Association.
