Attorney Michael James Price
Michael James Price was born in Kidderminster, England, and moved to the United States with his parents that same year. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Minnesota. He served as a claims examiner for the United States Veterans Administration before becoming an assistant Winona County Attorney. In 1974 he joined the law firm of McMahon, Darby, Price and Brooks. Since that time he has devoted his distinguished career as a lawyer to representing the people of southeastern Minnesota in criminal, personal injury and general legal matters. Together with Twin Cities attorney Doug Thompson, he tried one of Minnesota's most famous homicide cases, State vs. Howard. Beginning in 1976, he taught courses in both civil and criminal law as an adjunct professor at Winona State University for over a decade. He has served as a board member, officer and advisor for a wide range of community organizations, including the Gamehaven Council of Boy Scouts of America, Winona Area Volunteer Services, United Way of Greater Winona, Watkins United Methodist Home and Winona County Chapter/American Cancer Society.
Attorney Richmond H. McCluer, Jr.
Richmond H. McCluer, Jr. is a trial lawyer. Richmond is certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a Criminal Law Specialist. He is a Winona native and attended Winona Senior High School, Winona State University and the University of Minnesota Law School. He practiced with a national law firm in Minneapolis for several years before returning to Winona in 1988 and joining the law firm of Darby, Delano and Price. While with the firm, he tried a number of major felony cases, including robbery, narcotics, burglary, assault and criminal sexual conduct. In addition, he successfully represented many injured persons in accident and negligence cases. He left the firm in 1993 to enter government service with the Third Judicial District Public Defenders Office, where he served as Chief Trial Lawyer, handling serious felony trials across southern Minnesota. He left government service in 2003 to join with Michael J. Price and John Paul Plachecki to form the law firm of Price, McCluer and Plachecki. In 2004, McCluer was elected President of the Winona County Bar Association.
Attorney J.P. Plachecki
J.P. Plachecki is a Winona native who attended Cotter High School (best actor 1978; three year varsity football defensive captain-Cotter record six straight defensive shutouts), BA St. Mary's University of Minnesota, cum laude, JD Hamline University Law School (dean's list), LLM Boston University School of Law. He served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Masachussetts Department of Revenue. He returned to his hometown in 1994 to join the law firm of Darby, Delano & Price. He focuses his practice on representing accused persons in criminal matters throughout the Midwest. He recently won a landmark Minnesota Supreme Court decision in State v. Burbach. He has been selected as a Minnesota Superlawyer in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2007 and 2008 he was named by Minnesota Law & Politics as one of the top 40 criminal defense attorneys in Minnesota.
Attorney Kaitlyn C. Conway
Ms. Conway received her undergraduate degree at Westminster Choir College of Rider University with a Bachelors in Music, and then attended Suffolk School of Law in Boston, MA, where she received her Juris Doctor. At Suffolk, she was a member of the Journal of High Technology, had the pleasure of working at the Indigenous Peoples Rights Clinic where she worked closely with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, and was an SJC Rule 3:03 Certified Student Prosecutor working for the Worcester District Attorney’s Office in Worcester, MA. Ms. Conway practices in all areas of civil litigation, including family law, well as estates, wills, landlord-tenant law and corporations.
