Attorney Jonathan R. Goldsmith
Jonathan R. Goldsmith received a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College in 1983. He obtained his legal education at Western New England School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 1986. Since 2005, Mr. Goldsmith has been a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee. He is rated “AV”, the highest rating, for ethical standards and legal ability by Martindale Hubbell.
Over the past 30 years, Mr. Goldsmith has concentrated his legal practice in the area of commercial law, corporate and real estate law.
Mr. Goldsmith has served as a panelist and lecturer on a number of bankruptcy and bankruptcy related programs. He is a member of the Massachusetts and Hampden County Bar Associations, American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Commercial Law League of America where he served as Chair of the New England District from 1998-1999. Mr. Goldsmith is a past Chair of the Hampden County Bar Association, Bankruptcy Committee. In 2003, Mr. Goldsmith became Board Certified – Consumer Bankruptcy Law – American Board of Certification.
In October 2013, Mr. Goldsmith was selected as the first recipient of the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Massachusetts Pro Bono Award for Western Massachusetts. He has been designated a “Super Lawyer” by Boston Magazine, and in 2009 was designated on of the Top 100 Attorneys in Massachusetts as published in Boston Magazine’s Super Lawyers’ section.
Attorney Thomas E. Argeni
Thomas E. Argenio received his undergraduate degree from St. Michael’s College in 1980 and his law degree from Western New England School of Law in 1983. In 1984, Attorney Argenio and Attorney Katz formed a law partnership and established their office in downtown Springfield, where he has practiced ever since.
Attorney Argenio handles the divorce and family law matters as well as the criminal, personal injury and civil litigation cases for the firm. Additionally, he is involved in the real estate practice representing both buyers and sellers of real estate.
His domestic relations practice covers representation in areas of family law including divorce, custody disputes, contempts, modifications and restraining orders. Attorney Argenio frequently practices in the Probate and Family Courts of Hampden and Hampshire Counties and has practiced before the judges of the other counties as well.
Attorney Argenio handles all of the firm’s criminal matters. These include domestic matters, drug cases, driving under the influence matters, and assault and battery cases. He also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation matters in the district, housing and superior courts. Whether you are a business or an individual involved in a contract dispute, consumer matter or other civil action, your interests will be advanced and protected.
Attorney Argenio represents injured plaintiffs in auto accident cases, slip and fall cases, and other negligence actions. He will insure that your claim will be handled with compassion and care so that you will achieve the best possible result either through mediation, arbitration or trial.
In addition to his private practice, Attorney Argenio was appointed City Prosecutor in 1988 for the City of Chicopee and remained so for several years. He also represented the City of Chicopee handling civil matters as an Associate City Solicitor. Attorney Argenio is also an adjunct professor at Elms College where he teaches criminal law and advanced criminal law.
