Attorney Jo Anna Schmidt 
Founding and managing attorney Jo Anna Schmidt's defense practice began in 1988 while working as a staff attorney for CIGNA insurance company's Maryland house counsel. Jo Anna represents clients in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and her practice areas include defending clients in commercial and construction liability, municipality liability, general tort litigation, employment discrimination, workers' compensation claims, and insurance coverage. Jo Anna has successfully represented clients such as Giant Food Inc., Ferguson Enterprises, Pitney Bowes, Parsec Company, AAI Corporation and Comcast Cable Company. Jo Anna's appellate experience includes successfully defending the Employer in the oft-cited Maryland case of Bet v. Dixon. Dixon established and defined the limitations of a claimant's workers' compensation rights to bring a claim in Maryland when there are multiple jurisdictional issues. Prior to forming Schmidt, Dailey & O'Neill, L.L.C., Jo Anna was a partner with the Annapolis firm of Brassel & Baldwin. Jo Anna is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bars, the Defense Research Institute and the Maryland Defense Counsel.

Attorney Michael L. Dailey
Co founding attorney Michael L. Dailey represents clients in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Michael's defense practice began in 1989 for the law firm of Semmes, Bowen & Semmes in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1992, he joined Jo Anna in CIGNA's house counsel office in Baltimore, where he spent two years representing clients in commercial liability, and workers' compensation matters as well as insurance coverage disputes. Michael's appellate work includes the seminal case of Anne Arundel County v. McCormick in which Maryland's Court of Special Appeals established the statute of limitation rule for subrogation claims involving payment of workers' compensation benefits. In the commercial liability arena, Michael represented Giant Food Inc. in the reported case of May v. Giant Food Inc., in which Maryland's Court of Special Appeals addressed superseding/intervening cause applicability in an unattended vehicle tort action. Before forming Schmidt, Dailey & O'Neill, L.L.C., Michael was a shareholder in the Calverton law firm of O'Malley, Miles, Nylen & Gilmore. Michael's practice areas include commercial liability, workers' compensation defense, and insurance coverage. Michael is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bars, and the Defense Research Institute. He is currently the Chair of Workers' Compensation Section of the Maryland Defense Counsel.

Attorney Kevin E. O’Neill
Kevin E. O'Neill is the third Member of Schmidt, Dailey & O'Neill, joining the firm in 2001. Kevin began practicing in 1988 as a defense lawyer for the law firm of Kroll & Tract in Baltimore, Maryland. Since 1993, Kevin has represented clients before the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission, the Maryland District and Circuit Courts, and the District of Columbia Office of Workers' Compensation. Before joining Schmidt, Dailey & O'Neill, Kevin was an associate attorney for the Law Offices of Peter Angelos. Kevin is a member of the Maryland Bar, the District of Columbia Bar and the Maryland Defense Counsel. Kevin's practice areas include commercial liability and workers' compensation defense.
