Since 2006, attorney Jeff Hicks has successfully represented individuals, families and businesses involved in complex legal issues. Attorney Sherriann Hicks has the expertise to navigate the complexity of surrogacy and adoption, and also the experience you need. Jeff and Sherriann are a husband and wife who practice distinct areas of law. They have deep roots in Gwinnett County and surrounding communities. Jeff has been practicing Family Law since 1998, and representing families throughout the state of Georgia. He has extensive experience in helping both men and women deal with the financial and emotional aspects of Divorce, Child Relocation, & Child Custody and Child Support. Jeff also represents individuals and businesses throughout the state of Georgia in a range of legal matters, including Civil Litigation, Real Estate Litigation and Landlord Issues. Prior to launching his own firm, Jeff worked in the litigation group of a large local law firm, where he honed his litigation skills. Although Jeff is a formidable opponent in the courtroom, he attempts to settle disputes through mediation or arbitration whenever possible.
Sherriann focuses her legal practice on adoption, assisted reproduction and surrogacy. Since 1995, she has been working with those who are seeking to grow their family through adoption and assisted reproduction technologies. Sherriann also represents birth mothers looking to place their children for adoption, gestational carriers in surrogacy arrangements, as well as individuals involved in paternity or legitimation actions. In addition, if you are in the process of raising or caring for a child who is not your biological child and looking to obtain guardianship or to adopt, Sherriann can help.

Attorney Jeffrey B. Hicks
After graduation from Emory, Jeff served as Law Clerk to the Honorable R. Timothy Hamil in the State Court of Gwinnett County. Prior to launching his own firm, he worked for five years at the Lawrenceville firm of Andersen, Tate & Carr, P.C., where he was a member of the Litigation Group.
Jeff was admitted to the practice of law in the state of Georgia in 1998, and is licensed to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Jeff is the current President of the Gwinnett County Bar Association. He is also a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce. Jeff has served as an attorney coach to the Greater Atlanta Christian School Mock Trial Team and as an evaluator for the Mock Trial Competition. Jeff lives with his family in Suwanee.
Jeff received his Juris Doctor in 1998 from the Emory University School of Law. Before law school, he attended Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross and received his Bachelor of Science in biology, cum laude, in 1992 from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, where he was a Presidential Scholar.

Attorney Sherriann H. Hicks
Attorney Sherriann H. Hicks focuses her legal career on adoption, assisted reproduction and surrogacy. Since 1995, she has been working to place children in loving adoptive families. She views adoption as a gift for all parties involved: giving children an opportunity to grow in a healthy environment, adoptive parents a chance to raise children and birth mothers peace of mind. Locally and nationally known for her experience in adoption and surrogacy related matters, she can help you. Sherriann is a member of the Academy of Adoption Attorneys. She is a member of the Gwinnett County Bar Association and is a former President of the Gwinnett County Bar Association. She is also former President of the Georgia Council of Adoption Lawyers.
