I have been practicing bankruptcy law since 1998. I exclusively do bankruptcy law. I work directly with my clients to complete the petitions. I do not have them fill out a packet or some paralegal to blindly type in information.
I also attend the trustee's meeting personally, I do not have other attorneys cover my hearings unless it is an emergency or the venue is too far away. I have a good relationship with all the trustees and I make sure my clients will provide all necessary documents to the trustee.
It is important to stress that I will spend close to an hour with the client at the initial free consultation so I know all the details and to make sure there are no issues in the case that would cause the client troubles. If doing a Chapter 13, I will run a mock plan so the client knows about how much the plan payments would be each month. When a client calls my office I will return the phone call before I leave the office.
