Attorney Joshua G. Wilson
Joshua G. Wilson is the principal shareholder and president of Darling & Wilson, PC. He works extensively in estate planning, probate, real estate, business, appellate and civil law. Mr. Wilson obtained his B.A. Magna Cum Laude in 1996 from Fresno Pacific University and earned his Juris Doctorate and Master of Arts from the University of Notre Dame. In law school he served as Articles Editor for the Journal of Legislation. Following law school Mr. Wilson clerk for the Honorable T.J. Hauler of Virginia’s Twelfth Judicial Circuit.
Mr. Wilson returned to Kern County and soon formed a partnership with longtime local attorney and CPA Curtis Darling.
Mr. Wilson is certified as a specialist in appellate law by the California Board of Legal Specialization and has handle more than one hundred matters in the courts of appeal. He has extensive experience in handling and resolving complex problems in probate, real estate and business. He is a private pilot and serves as a member of the board of directors of the Minter Field Airport District, Shafter Symphony Orchestra, Friends of Portugal and is currently serving as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Fresno Pacific University.
Attorney Anton H. Labrentz
Anton H. Labrentz is a licensed member of the California, Oregon and Washington State Bars in good standing. He is also admitted to the United States District Court, Central District of California. Anton was named a 2014 and 2015 “Super Lawyers Rising Star of Southern California” as seen in Los Angeles magazine and is a recipient of the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s “Lawrence J. Blake Award for Dedicated Service to the Public.”
He is presently a Civil Litigator and Probate Attorney at Darling & Wilson, PC, where he practices in the areas of Trusts & Estates, Wills & Probate, and Business Law.
Before his move to Darling & Wilson, PC, Anton maintained a full-service Criminal, DUI and Traffic defense practice in Southern California zealously advocating for his clients involving alcohol and/or drug DUIs, felony weapon and drug charges, theft, and assault, among other crimes.
As a criminal defense associate at The Law Office of Mark Rosenfeld in Beverly Hills, Anton handled all matters from initial client meeting and intake, arraignments, pre-trials, DMV Admin Per Se Hearings, discovery, motions, contested suppression and Pitchess hearings through trial and jury verdict in DUI and driving-related cases.
From 2006-2012, Anton worked at O’Melveny & Myers in the Century City and Los Angeles offices in the Electronic Discovery and Document Retention Practice responding to civil pretrial discovery in complex stock option, copyright, patent and trademark infringement cases as a contract attorney.
Anton began his career as an intern at the San Francisco Public Defender’s office and used his experience to open his own private practice in Oregon advocating successfully for his clients in the areas of criminal defense (DUI, driving, drug and theft-related offenses) and business law.
Anton has been characterized as self-motivated and articulate with a deep commitment to excellence and colleagues enjoy his affable sense of humor.
Attorney David A. Cole
David A. Cole is an Attorney of Darling & Wilson, PC. Mr. Cole earned his Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College and obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Concord Law School in 2009. Mr. Cole works extensively in real property law, IP Due Diligence, ITC Litigation and Intellectual Property.
He is an active member of the American Bar Association and on his off time, he enjoys activities involving theatrical arts.
Attorney Jason R. Ekk
Jason R. Ekk was born in Dinuba, California but grew up in Portugal as a missionary kid. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History and Communication from Fresno Pacific University in 2005 and a Master of Arts in Peacemaking and Conflict Studies in 2009. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law with his Juris Doctorate in 2012. Prior to law school, Mr. Ekk was the Director of the Restorative Justice Initiative in Fresno County. During that time, he also worked as a conflict resolution consultant in Angola with International Republican Institute working with various political parties on conflict prevention strategies following Angola’s civil war. After law school, Mr. Ekk worked as an Assistant Professor of Criminology and Restorative Justice Studies at Fresno Pacific University and an attorney at Darling & Wilson, PC. In 2014 Mr. Ekk decided to practice law full time. Mr. Ekk’s areas of practice include real estate, business law, estate planning, mediation, and litigation.
Jason lives in Visalia and is married and enjoys hanging out with his three children. When he is not hanging out with his family or at work, Jason loves coaching his kids’ soccer teams, watching sports, drawing, and reading books (or more likely listening to books) on history. He currently sits on the board of trustees of Fresno Pacific University, Friends of Portugal and the elder board of his church, Neighborhood Church in Visalia.
Attorney Nathaniel J. Oleson
Nathaniel J. Oleson is a civil litigator who has been practicing law since 2011 and works primarily in the areas of civil litigation, probate, and appeals.
Mr.Oleson grew up on a ranch in Southern California as the oldest of seven children, where he grew avocados, and raised golden retrievers and emus. After high school he owned and operated a pool cleaning business, and he served as a mentor for Jr. High students.
Mr. Oleson’s first encounter with the legal system took place when he was very young when he saw his family go through a contentious inheritance dispute that caused serious damage to the relationships with family members for many years. He also saw numerous lawsuits brought against small businesses run by both family and friends which were unfairly resolved due to a lack of effective representation. Based on these experiences Mr. Oleson entered the legal profession in order to defend individuals and businesses in a legal system that is often overwhelming for those who do not regularly take part in the system.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Oleson has been involved in a variety of cases defending individuals and businesses in litigation regarding probate, contracts, labor and employment, personal injury, traffic tickets, evictions, civil rights, business disputes, and property disputes. In addition, Mr. Oleson has appellate experience in state and Federal courts, and has practiced criminal defense. His diverse background gives Mr. Oleson a great deal of creative insight in defending his client’s goals.
Mr. Oleson has been described by his clients as having a calming presence as he guides them through the legal process. In addition to his normal practice, he previously volunteered at a monthly legal clinic where he provided free legal information to members of the community.
Mr. Oleson is admitted to practice before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Federal courts for Eastern and Southern Districts of California. He also earned a Certificate in Human Rights Law from the Institute for International Human Rights and he is a licensed California Real Estate Broker. Mr. Oleson and his wife have lived in the Central Valley since 2015 where they enjoy exploring the numerous out-of-the way sites and restaurants.
Attorney Darren J. Bogié
Darren J. Bogié is an attorney with over 20 years experience representing clients in State and Federal Courts. Darren joined the firm of Darling & Wilson PC as an Of Counsel in 2020 and he presently works on both transactional and litigation matters with a focus on Business and Probate Litigation, Estate Planning, and Assets Protection. Darren also provides advice to clients on Tax Matters and Pre-Litigation Planning.
Darren earned his Juris Doctorate, With Distinction from the University Of The Pacific, Mc Gorge School of Law. Upon graduation, he was awarded Order of the Coif. During Law School, Darren worked with Professor Stephen C. McCaffrey on a Review of Developments In Public International Law, which was published in Volume 30 of The International Lawyer.
Before joining Darling & Wilson, Darren was an attorney with Schools Legal Service in Bakersfield where he represented Kern County Schools before federal courts including the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals
Prior to returning to Kern County, Darren had a private practice in Sacramento in which he represented high net worth individuals with their legal needs.
Darren began his legal career as an officer in the US Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps serving as military prosecutor and special assistant US attorney.
Darren was a former Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice for CSU Sacramento and has been a coach for law school mock trial teams. He is a frequently requested presenter on legal topics. Darren is also sought out by other attorneys as a consultant on complex legal matters.
Darren is licensed in California and is admitted to practice before the 9th Circuit, the US Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California, The United States Tax Courts, and United States Court of Appeals for The Armed Forces.
During his time off, Darren enjoys spending time with his family, viewing and collecting art, mountain biking, hunting, and fishing.
