In 2010, DePuy issued a recall of the ASR CL Acetabular system and the ASR hip resurfacing system because these components had unreasonably high failure rates leading to injuries. Nearly 100,000 systems were recalled, and those who have the products installed should have been notified or should be notified soon of the recall. If you were affected by this recall, and your hip replacement system was defective, you may be entitled to compensation under product liability law. In product liability law, if you purchase and then are later injured by a defective product such as a hip replacement system, the manufacturer is liable and must pay for your damages. If enough people are injured by the same product, these claims may be joined together into a class action lawsuit.
