Indian country is generally all land within limits have any Indian Reservation under the jurisdiction of the U.S. government. The jurisdiction over a crime depends greatly on who commits a crime, the victim and the crime itself. Jurisdictions are either federal, tribal, state or combination of all three jurisdictions. For example, if in Indian perpetrator commit a non-major crime against an Indian victim only the tribe has jurisdiction, but if those same two individuals were involved in what is considered a major crime there’s both federal and tribal jurisdiction.
