Late Fees

A landlord may impose, pursuant to a rental agreement, a late charge on any rental payment five days or more late, of the greater of $15 or 5percent of the rental payment, but no more. A late fee may be imposed only one time for each late rental payment and may not be deducted from a subsequent rental payment so as to cause the subsequent rental payment to be in default.
