What Happens If An Abused Animal Is Discovered?

When an abused animal is discovered, an official is allowed to cross on to the property, whether public or private, and take custody of the animal. If the animal is beyond reasonable recovery from its injuries, the officials have the option of euthanizing the animal. When the official takes custody, the owner will be notified within two days. However if the owner is found guilty of animal cruelty, the official will have the option to dispose of the dog after twenty days of notifying the owner.
