Does Vermont Law Allow for a Redemption Period After a Foreclosure?

Yes, Vermont law does allow a borrower to redeem a property after foreclosure. In most cases the borrower has 6 months from the date of the foreclosure sale to redeem the property by paying the outstanding loan and all applicable costs and fees. If the mortgage was entered into before 1968, however, the redemption period is extended to one year.
