What Public Notice Requirements are There for a Real Estate Foreclosure in Massachusetts?

If a judicial foreclosure is pursued in Massachusetts, then the lender takes possession of the property and no public notice is required beyond the court filings associated with the foreclosure process.
However, if the lender pursues a non judicial foreclosure sale then the lender is required to publish a Notice of Sale in the weekly newspaper of the town where the property is located for three consecutive weeks beginning at least three weeks prior to the sale date.
