Not all foreclosures in Maine are through a foreclosure sale since Maine still allows for strict foreclosures where the lender simply takes possession of the property. However, if a lender decides to pursue a foreclosure sale then the date, time and location of that sale are decided in conjunction with the court and published in the Notice of Sale so that the public is aware of the upcoming sale.
