How Can a Lender Foreclose on a Property in Iowa?
If an Iowa lender wants to foreclose on an Iowa property then the lender must sue the borrower in court and obtain a decree of sale. The public notice and sale requirements are set by state law and by the judge in each case.
While there is not a right to a foreclosure sale outside of the court system, a borrower may give the lender all rights to the property and avoid a foreclosure sale.
