The U.S. Housing and Urban Development announced its speedy federal disaster assistance and support to homeowners and low-income renters who were forced from their home due to Hurricane Sandy.

HUD offers foreclosure relief and other assistance programs to certain families in specific counties affected by the storm. President Obama announced a disaster area for the following counties: Atlantic, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Union Counties.
