What Public Notice Requirements Are There For a Real Estate Foreclosure in Alabama?

Alabama requires that real estate foreclosures be published in the newspapers of the county where the property being foreclosed upon is located. The notice must be published at least once a week for three consecutive weeks prior to the foreclosure sale and it must contain a description of the property as well as the date and time of the foreclosure sale. Individual mortgages or deeds may require that additional public notice be provided. The foreclosure sale may not take place until 30 days from the date of the last published public notice.
