What are the requirements to be eligible to vote in Minnesota state and local elections?

In order to vote under Minnesota law, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least eighteen (18) years of age on Election Day, and a resident of Minnesota for at least twenty (20) days prior to the election. You are permitted to vote in Minnesota if you have a felony conviction, but only if your conviction record has been discharged, expired, or completed. Additionally, you cannot vote in the state of Minnesota if you have been determined to be incompetent by a court, or are under a court-ordered guardianship where a court has revoked your right to vote.
