LawInfo Editorial Standards

LawInfo strives to promote legal literacy and empower consumers. We do this by providing free and open access to legal information through articles, videos, and attorney profiles.

To do this, we adhere to the following standards and practices when creating content for LawInfo.com. These guidelines also apply to content contributors who are not employees of Internet Brands.

Content

All content written for LawInfo is thoroughly researched, unique, and written by licensed attorneys. LawInfo employees and contributors are responsible for creating all content on the site and social media channels. We provide transparency in authorship through the use of bylines and author and reviewer bio pages.

Editorial Review

LawInfo editorial staff reviews all content before publication for:

  • Clarity and ease of reading
  • Grammatical accuracy
  • Style
  • Legal and factual accuracy

All articles published on LawInfo come with a “last updated date” and, when applicable, the name of the reviewer.

Accuracy and Sources

We make every effort to cite and link to the sources of facts stated in our articles. These sources include, but are not limited to:

  • Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and court cases
  • Government agency websites
  • Respected media outlets
  • Industry publications
  • Respected non-profits, think tanks, and non-governmental organizations
