She is a 2008 graduate, cum laude, of Pepperdine University School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Scholar, Research Assistant and a member of the Dispute Resolution Journal. She is also a 2005 graduate, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, of the University of North Dakota. Christina served as a law clerk from 2010-2012 for the Honorable Charles S. She has also completed Executive Education at Georgetown University (Executive Certificate in Transformational Leadership) and Harvard University (Leadership, Organizing and Action: Leading Change).
Attorney Carey Goetz
Carey has been practicing law for nearly twenty years, during which time she has primarily focused her practice in the areas of family law, criminal defense and appellate practice. Carey is a 2003 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law and she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of St. Thomas (Minnesota) in 2000. Following graduation, Carey clerked for the Honorable William Neumann (retired) at the North Dakota Supreme Court for the 2003-2004 term.
Carey practiced in Minnesota following her clerkship, first as a civil litigator in a class action suit and then as an attorney in an immigration firm, where she focused on the needs of undocumented immigrants in Minnesota’s family and criminal courts. Carey returned to North Dakota, first to Minot, and then to Bismarck, where she has been practicing since 2007. In addition to her work with families through her family law cases, Carey has litigated both civil and criminal jury trials, and has litigated numerous appeals to the North Dakota Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Carey’s passion for advocacy goes beyond her legal practice. Carey currently sits on the Board of Directors for Nexus-PATH, and she is a member of North Dakota Protection and Advocacy’s Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) Advisory Council.
